Light box two consists of a white wooden frame, which lower and upper sides are covered by a steel grating. Six neon tubes are mounted on the lower grid, on the upper one 6 X 6 preserving jars filled with slides are presented. The slides arranged in those jars have been collected by the participants of the 16. Ifupa (internationalen-foto-unikat-postkarten-aktion, international photo unique copy postcard campaign) campaign by carmen oberst – PHOTO.KUNST.RAUM. hamburg. They are parts of the individual collection or have been exposed by the participants for this special occason. The participants share a common interest in the subjet retrospective / reflection – archiving – transformation which is made public in an exhibition series at PHOTO.KUNST.RAUM. in 2011.
Light box two inspires the ifupa participants to revise their photo archives. The reflection of their own, maybe just very recent, past while regarding and selecting the photos and their (re)dedication for the preserving jar creates the space for transformation. The retrospective becomes a trial balance of the present –personally and subjective.
In the exhibition PHOTO.KUNST.RAUM. the installation creates a direct dialogue with the presented works of the participants, which do not only coin the space surrounding the installation, but also shaped the inner constitution by the use of the contributed slides. As a matter of course connotations and personal experiences unclose to the beholder, when he or she connects work with work.

light box two besteht aus einem weissen holzrahmen, dessen unter- und oberseite mit einem gitterrost geschlossen sind. auf dem unteren gitterrost sind sechs neonröhren montiert, auf dem oberen stehen 6 X 6 einmachgläser gefüllt mit kleinbilddias. die dias, die sich in den einmachgläsern befinden, werden von den teilnehmern der 16. ifupa (internationalen-foto-unikat-postkarten-aktion) aktion von carmen oberst – PHOTO.KUNST.RAUM. hamburg – zusammengetragen. sie stammen aus der eigenen sammlung oder werden für die installation vom jeweiligen teilnehmer für diese belichtet. die teilnehmer verbindet die gemeinsame auseinandersetzung mit dem thema „retrospektive – reflektion, archivierung, wandlung“, die in einer ausstellungsreihe 2011 im PHOTO.KUNST.RAUM. öffentlich wird.
light box two regt einen rückblick ins eigene fotoarchiv der ifupa teilnehmer an. die reflektion über die eigene – vielleicht auch nur junge vergangenheit – beim betrachten und auswählen der bilder und ihre (um)widmung für das einmachglas bildet den raum für transformation. der rückblick wird zur verprobung der gegenwart – persönlich und subjektiv.
in der ausstellung im PHOTO.KUNST.RAUM. tritt die installation in direkten dialog mit den ausgestellten werken der teilnehmer, die nicht nur den aussenraum um die installation herum prägen, sondern durch ihre beigetragenen dias auch die innere verfassung geformt haben. wie selbstverständlich eröffnen sich für den betrachter assoziationen und persönliche erfahrungen, wenn er werke und werk verbindet.
